Overview
About Me
I'm just a somewhat geeky, maybe a little introverted than I'd prefer to be, school technology guy for a K-8 school.
I'm looking to start traveling more extensively, and wanted to start meeting more travelers.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I find myself having waited far too long to start traveling, and i find myself wanting to learn about other cultures as more than pages in a book.
I don't honestly know where I want to go from here, but I know couchsurfing is a start to meeting new people!
Interests
I've got hobbies ranging from reading history, collecting coins, woodwork, metal work, blacksmithing, cooking, and baking. I don't consider myself to be that good at any of them, but I enjoy them!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like a wide variety of music, with an emphasis on 80's-90's music, and an eclectic selection of 'everything else'.
I'm partial to Sci-fi for books; Heinlein, Niven, McCaffrey (ok, thats maybe more fantasy), and some fantasy; Eddings, G.R.R. Martin, Tolkien.
As for non fiction; "The 52 Loaves" and "The Last Voyage of the Emden" are two I've enjoyed recently.
Movies? Eh, little of everything.. With a sci-fi lean.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It won't impress any seasoned hikers, but I found my short hike along Hadrians Wall in northern England in 2011 pretty amazing. For just a few hundred yards, in a copse of woods, I could imagine for a moment that it wasa fine summer day in 100 A.D., and any moment a Roman patrol could come along. It was quiet, and the wall next to the trail, a mile-fort behind me, and the Housesteads fort just up ahead.
I want to see more! Travel more!
Countries I’ve Visited
Canada, England, Scotland
