33 year old male Software Engineer. My surgeon describes me as an 'extreme sports enthusiast' though I'm a reasonably quiet guy generally.
On 16th September 2014 I suffered a near fatal BASE jump accident in Italy and have been recovering ever since. I can now walk again but require an external orthosis to be made and fitted on my right leg in Gig Harbor, USA, which requires a two week stay in February. I'm seeking a couch to sleep on in Gig Harbor for two weeks from the 7th February 2016 while I receive treatment at Hanger Clinic (Erickson street)

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

I've had backpackers crash on my couch over the years (though I've never formerly been a part of couch surfers before). Now, with the need to stay in Gig Harbor, USA for a fortnight while I receive treatment for an acute leg injury I figured it's a good time to properly join couch surfers and reclaim some of the travel karma I've hopefully built up with my guests. In the future I'll be able to offer space in my apartment in Perth again.

Interesses

Skydiving, kitesurfing and related activities.
(However, having suffered a near fatal BASE injury on September 2014 I've spent the past year slowly recovering)

I'm also interested in cosmology, astronomy, and classical and quantum physics, so if you're into chatting about how the universe works, I'm keen (my interest in extreme sports is somewhat tempered by my slightly nerdy nature :) )

Flying wing suits (and being part of the group that broke the Australian Wingsuit Formation Record in 2014) was the achievement of a long held goal.

One of the most challenging and rewarding travel experiences I've had involved buying a scooter in the south of Vietnam and travelling solo, over two months, to the north. (To get to Vietnam I had cycled across Cambodia from Thailand, which was it's own challenging experience)

I made a deal with myself about 15 years ago, no matter what else happens I have to go overseas at least once each year to experience something new. In the process I've learnt a lot about myself and people around me and have had some indescribably incredible experiences.
