About Me

Lived in Midwestern cities my entire life, grew up in Catholic education, etc. Born and raised in St. Louis, went to college in Kansas City, MO, and now I live in Omaha working in a college access nonprofit.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The world is big and there are a lot of good people in it. I hope to use couchsurfing to see as much as I can and to meet as many people as possible.

Music, Movies, and Books

Daft Punk, Radiohead, LCD soundsystem, Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear. I have a deep respect for local musicians of almost any genre.

Casablanca, Singing in the Rain, Rushmore, Pulp Fiction, No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood. I like most movies, but I do like classics, some musicals, Disney/Pixar, and generally everything by the Coen Brothers, Tarantino, Wes Anderson, and PTA.

I usually am reading something nonfiction, usually about psychology or something social justice-y. Oliver Sacks is one of my new favorite authors, as well as Paulo Freire.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The coolest thing I've ever done was hop on a plane to Lusaka, Zambia with a group of Gonzaga students I had never met. We studied abroad in Chimfunshi, a wildlife orphanage in the northwest region of the country, and did behavioral research on the chimpanzees there. We also hung out with really energetic kids and helped teach them English.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I really like listening to people. I am curious about others' jobs, religions, nationalities, languages, and cultures. When I stay with a host, hopefully we can learn something about how to think from one another. Also, if you're a musician, we might be able to jam (I play drums and a little guitar).

Countries I’ve Visited

England, France, Germany, Spain, Zambia
