Hey! I'm Paul. I'm from California, and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I graduated from UC Berkeley in 2017 and came to Berlin to do an internship with Bayer in bioinformatics and machine learning.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I really enjoy traveling and consider myself an outgoing and adventurous person. My goal in life is to maximize both the quality and quantity of interesting life experiences - to meet as many people, have as many interesting conversation, try as many foods, listen to as much music, explore as many cities, and hike as many trails as I can. To that end, I'm looking to couchsurf during my Europe travels. I'd love to interact with locals, participate in cultural exchange, and hear international perspectives on life, society, government, culture, technology, the future, whatever. Of course, free accommodations don't hurt :).

I left family, friends, girlfriend, and the potential to make silly Silicon Valley money to intern in a field I am passionate about on the other side of the world.

Teach - wtf is going on with US politics, how does Machine Learning / AI work, how to make a mean stir fry, wtf is going on with North and South Korea, where to get the best IPAs and see the best sights in California.

Learn - wtf is going on in your country's politics, what do you do for fun, what are your people's culture and customs and how and why that culture formed

Share - my experiences on various psychedelic substances, my perspectives on the future and on technology's role in human life.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'd be happy to share a homecooked meal! I love cooking and would be happy to pitch in for groceries, help cook, share food and conversation, and of course help clean at the end.
