Overview
About Me
I am a considerate traveler who understands how not to be a burden. I strongly believe in being a "traveler," not a "tourist." I try to walk softly, care about others, and celebrate new experiences with the amazing people I meet along the way.
I'm a park ranger with a terminal case of wanderlust. I've visited all 50 states and lived in 17 of them, visited 16 countries on 6 continents, swam in all 4 of the world's major oceans, and have still seen practically 0% of all the places on this fabulous planet that I want to get to before I slide head-first into the grave in a cloud of dust.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm couchsurfing because I love travel, love meeting new people, and love having authentic experiences where ever I go. Staying in a hotel is convenient, sure, but it's often sterile and boring. I enjoy getting a feel for what life is like in the places I visit and meet fascinating people with stories to share.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While trekking on a volcano in Rwanda I had the pleasure of getting slapped on the back by a young mountain gorilla who was trying to show the rangers that he can touch a tourist if he wants to.
