Overview
About Me
Heyo! I've been living in the DC area for almost 5 years (!) and incredibly happy to be here. Maybe I'm a bit biased, but I feel that DC offers the rare balance of industrious energy and endless list of new things to do/see. Feel free to ask me any questions about this great city!
I work in the IT sector as a project manager, which is oftentimes hectic but allows me the opportunity to travel for leisure...which I try to take full advantage of. My goal for this year is to do 4 trips overseas, two major (South Africa, Australia) and two minor (Spain, Cuba). Needless to say, I enjoy traveling to see other parts of the world and immerse in different cultures. But I try to do so in a low-key manner in recognition that it's such a privilege.
I'd say I'm a pretty easygoing, down-to-earth person - or at least I strive to be as much as possible. I'm very fond of meet new people from other countries as well as within the US.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people, especially those from different backgrounds/cultures as my own. Meeting others and sharing personal stories as well as advice is one of my favorite things about traveling - learning something new without the use of books and the internet.
Also as a proud Washingtonian, to introduce others to my city of DC.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's tough to single out a particular experience, but I'd say visiting South Africa a few months ago ranks way up there. Especially staying in Cape Town and seeing its spectacular landscape, including climbing Table Top Mountain and visiting Robben Island. I also really enjoying doing a self-guided safari drive and seeing the many African animals in their natural habitat.
Other contenders would include visiting Machu Picchu and climbing Huashan Mountains overnight last year.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm really proud to call DC my home and enjoy sharing its wonders (and hidden secrets) to others. This can range from the most worthwhile museums to see to the best eateries in the area. One thing I was inspired by in my recent travels is the eagerness of strangers to introduce me to their home city, and looking to do the same for others.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good question! I'd say I'm a competent chef who specializes in authentic Chinese and American dishes. Otherwise I'm clean, organized, and most eager to learn something new or exchange stories.
