About Me

I recently moved from France. I've been lucky enough to travel quite a bit these past few years, but also looking forward to taking the time to explore the city.

It's quite nice to be an hour from the beach, even if the waves here are fairly sloppy most of the time. I have a few trips coming up (Taiwan, Okinawa & San Diego), and hoping to meet up with some people to get some insight, and share a beer or a wave.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I originally joined after reading an article in a newspaper (yep..) and thinking the concept was very cool.

Hosting : Living in Paris, London and Tokyo meant that I didn't really have space to host people (New York is not much better I'm afraid). I've mostly been giving travel tips and showing people around. It's not much, but it's the reciprocity that makes this a good service.

Traveling : I've stayed with two CS hosts so far, mostly to break away from the hostel/backpackers scene.

Interests

While a lot of these interests sound generic (i.e. coffee, surfing), but I have only listed topics that I have delved deeply into.

  • coffee
  • running
  • surfing
  • ramen
  • rockclimbing

Music, Movies, and Books

I've been reading a lot of this author : Gretel Ehrlich. She's constantly seeking out harsh environments, and gently observing how people live in such desolate places. Her fiercely poetic style brings out the depth of human bonds.

Music-wise I highly recommend NTS, a London-based internet radio. They have all kinds of different music styles. You may be pleasantly surprised by something you would never have come across by yourself.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is fairly recent, but I'm working on a machine learning algorithm using data from Magic Seaweed. I'm not too sure if it'll work out, but I think it's pretty dope to have overcome my initial reaction to programming which is that it's some big insurmountable thing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I can help you with your French, make a decent cup of coffee, and give travel tips for a few places.

Learn:
Happy to learn about "your" interests. If you're passionate about something, by all means talk about it! I get stoked off other peoples enthusiasm.

Share:
Time and a nice conversation
