Overview
About Me
I have been married for 36 years and have 3 children, an actress, a surveyor and a nurse. My wife and I both highly value our spiritual lives, me through my church and her through her spiritual practise in a group called Subud. For some reason our kids all turned out fantastic. They attribute it to our laid back hippy approach to life, even though we don't really see ourselves that way and neither of us drink, smoke or do drugs. We always had a bit of an alternative lifestyle and health focus.
I'm not a big traveler but my wife loves to go places. Our biggest travel desires revolve around getting to warm places in the winter, though I would one day like to get back to Ireland and enjoy the celtic music.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We would like to have meaningful connections with people and meet new friends so that our travels are not just about doing the tourist thing. We are heading to Maui soon (our first visit...we have been to the Big Island a number of times)with very loose plans, which consist of having rented a van to travel and sleep in and having left it too late to find very much in the way of affordable accommodation we could really use a night or two here and there to give us a break from the van reality (we were only able to find 3 nights Jan 14-17). Would be great to just have a place to park our van for a few nights as we are very unsure of the prospects for van camping on Maui. We are easy to get on with and would love to connect to people who have made their homes in such a beautiful place.
Interests
I have been playing fiddle(mostly Irish) and guitar (especially finger picking) for many years and still enjoy both. Adriana is an avid gardener. We've also become sailors and have a 22 foot Chrysler sailboat.
