One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got stuck deep in the Kalalau Valley during a bad storm without enough food for ten days, where after unknowingly sleeping at an ancient sacred heiau the night before, i happened upon a secret trail behind a giant mango tree that led to the cobble-stoned homey garden abode of the well-shaven and good man Brook, who shared with me his extra hammock, cooking and secrets before I made my way back through the storm and past a dead body and naked people on the at-times unrecognizable trail till I was helped across a raging over-my-waist river by a group of people who came at the exact right time.
