About Me
CURRENT MISSION
NOW VISITING TALLINN for one week or more !
Cultural exchanges, travelling and meeting good people from all around this beautiful world of ours.
ABOUT ME
Howdy, fellow couchsurfers, I'm Paul. I was born in Bergerac in 1985, and I lived in Bordeaux most of my life. Until I decided I wanted to do something else, so I became a seasonal worker in the french Alps, mainly working as a receptionist / night auditor in Les Arcs and Val Thorens. So I work up there for 6 months, and then I just travel / chill / visit friends / go to festivals. It's a good way of life to my opinion, because it let me do whatever I want for half of my time. Time, which appears to me as a way more valuable entity than money.
I always have been interested in other cultures, meeting people to extend my point of view and discover as many things as possible, so do not hesitate if you want to chat and have a pint, I'm your man !
PHILOSOPHY
As I was educated : respecting differences and other cultures as long as they don't intend to slaughter anything around them, favouring mental wealth over material consumption, loving arts, animals and knowledge.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Since I left Bordeaux I do not have any place of my own, so unfortunately I cannot host anyone anymore, except during winters - the company provides appartment for the staff during the season- so if you're planning on spending cheap winter holidays, I can definitely help you there !
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Not much yet : I hosted a couple of very good people back in the Bordeaux days, but I've been very busy coming and going all around since. Eager to use this great concept of couchsurfing in its true potential though !
Interests
I love the english culture, litterature, music, and great comedy shows for what I know ; I will probably head there and stay for a while, maybe next year. Lately I also discovered some countries thanks to festivals : Slovenia with Metal Days, and Czech Republic with Brutal Assault. Also Germany (Hamburg and Wacken) 2 years ago. Although such events don't really allow you to properly discover these countries, I felt so good there that I will be back for some tourism in a couple of weeks. I went to Ireland (mostly Northern) a couple of years ago, too. Beautiful island, really.
There are so many places to see in the world, and we are already running out of time, so I want to enjoy mine as much as possible. And I'm doing quite a good job following that goal so far :)

Music, Movies, and Books
-Books : Terry Pratchett, J.R.R Tolkien, E.A Poe, H.P Lovecraft, Hunter S. Thompson, and rockstars biographies lately.
-Movies : TLOTR, Matrix, Man on the Moon, Simon Pegg movies , This is Spinal Tap, Fearing and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Big Lebowsky, etc. Black Books is my favorite english sitcom. Dylan Moran and Bill Bailey are comedy genius.
- Music : I just couldn't name all the bands, really. So I'm a huge metal fan, you got that already, but I like to listen to blues, reggae, rap, electronic and classical music from time to time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Pretty much every trip felt amazing, really. Everytime I go somewhere new feels exciting. Diving into the crystal clear (and freaking cold !!) Soca river felt like a resurrection to me.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you french and a couple of songs on the guitar. Oh, and a bunch of cool cooking recipes too. I can also do a bit of Photoshop, plant trees, that kind of totally unrelated things !
And I'm willing to learn pretty much EVERYTHING !
What I Can Share with Hosts
My empathy, travel stories, a couple of recipes and guitar parts, stuff like that.
