Born in Calgary Canada in 1987, went to the University of Victoria on the West Coast of Canada for 4 years, Travelled extensively for the last few years and am now doing a PhD in Leiden

PHILOSOPHY

I think I live my life by the phrase 'seemed like a good idea at the time'.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have surfed couches in Essaouira, Agadir, and Hassi Labied in Morocco; Sfax in Tunisia; Marsaskala in Malta; Elefsina in Greece; Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bodrum, Antalya, Kayseri, Diyarbakir in Turkey; Muscat in Oman; Leh in India; Penang and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia; Gold Coast in Australia; Tokyo, Kyoto, Matsuyama, Shizuoka, and Fukuoka in Japan; Seoul in South Korea; visited the great wall with CSers in Beijing, China; Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia (twice); and Moscow, Russia. Amazing people and places!

Guitar, hiking, biking, snowboarding, walking, photography, building things, taking things apart, music, movies, stargazing, stormy weather, coincidences, longboarding, cars, planes/flying, random facts, mountains, discussions about cosmology, archaeology, theology and evolution... and not necessarily in that order.

Music: almost anything really, used to be mostly classic rock, but now I enjoy everything from blues to hip hop to bluegrass. Although my all time favourite band has probably got to be Queen... I also like Bob Dylan.

Movies: Too many to list! I like Sci-Fi, fantasy/adventure, crime and dark comedies, and the occasional heart-warmer. Though I'll sit through just about anything!
