About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To discover the treasure of the Sierra Madre down the back of someones' couch.

ABOUT ME

Hi guys! I just joined the site after meeting a Couchsurfer in Israel last Christmas. I love traveling and meeting new people- so this seems like the place to be...
I've worked for years in mental health services, services for people with autism/asperger syndrome and most recently acquired brain injuries- it's a pretty cool job and i get to talk to lots of people and help them improve their lives.
I'm a pretty open person and, although I've got my own favourite types of music, film, sports, etc., I just like to experience new things, so try me!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Was introduced to couchsurfing around New Year 2011- and love it! Have hosted five times and been hosted four times in Japan but also met up with some couchsurfers for drinks in Liverpool. Love the site and love the people I've met so far :)

Interests

Just about anything... I love all kinds of music but grew up listening to rock, punk and metal music and play the bass guitar, so these are still some of my favourites. More recently, I've become interested in other types of music including classical and have been playing the 5-string banjo for 5 years, so have become interested in bluegrass, folk and irish music as well. I love any type of live music!

I also love movies and, although I started with a minor obsession with horror movies as a teenager (I was a bit obsessed with Dawn of the Dead) I've got a bit more of a range of genres now...

What else? I like sports and have studied lots of different martial arts since I was a kid. I love learning languages and know bits of lots of languages, with my latest being Japanese and Hebrew...

Haha- I guess I'm a bit of a geek but most of my friends would say I'm pretty cool too :-D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Haha- where to start?!? Been lucky to have had a lot of amazing experiences over the past few years... Sheep shearing in New Zealand, working on a small rice farm in Japan and Christmas Eve in Bethlehem has to rank up there... Think volunteer work I've done has to have been some of the most amazing things- Christmas working with the homeless in London in 2009, and helping with the tsunami cleanup in Japan in 2011 both blew my mind...
