About Me

I'm solo backpacking around the world for unknown time (started in August 2018).
I just had to get out of my little village and see the world. I left my everyday life behind: no more walks with my family's dog, no more training sessions with my volleyball team, no more nights out with my friends and no more dreaming about traveling. Here I am. Only me, my backpack and a lot of excitement for the unknown.
I'd like to discover new places and people and see how life is around the world.
I don't want to plan every little detail and just take things as they come.
If you would like to climb the next mountain, I'm up for it. If you would like to just sit down, drink coffee and talk, I'm up for it.
But as well as going on adventures I also enjoy silence and I have no problem being on my own.
I'm looking forward to get to know you and your culture and if your are interested in mine, I will be happy to tell you about it!
I am an open-minded, adventurous and spontaneous person who doesn't take herself too seriously. Life is fun, shit happens, laugh about it.

Currently, I'm enjoying life in Melbourne, Australia. I first moved here in September 2018 and worked for a while. After a few months I travelled up the East Coast and lived out of my van. I made it all the way up to Cairns and explored the surrounding areas as well.
After visiting home for a few weeks and going to Vietnam for another two weeks I am back in Australia.

My goal is to drive along the entire coastline of Australia. I've been told I'm crazy for trying this but you've got to dream big, right?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a good opportunity to save money when travelling on a budget. Also you randomly get to meet people who are good company but you would not have met otherwise.

Travelling with a van is fun as long as there is a place where you can park and stay overnight. But when it comes to visiting bigger cities you sometimes need locals to help you out with a hot shower and a bed for the night. Because somehow authorities don't seem to like people who camp in the middle of the city. No idea why.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Started travelling on my own. People kept telling me to not go on my own because it's dangerous and you'll be alone. Of course you need to be careful but you are never alone! You meet so many amazing people while travelling.
