About Me

MISSION: I'm travelling to Iceland, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, England, Wales, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland from January and February. I'm arriving at Reykjiavik on Januart 12th and I'm looking for recommendations as to what to do in such a wonderful country.

I'm a motivated, relaxed and outgoing person. I would describe myself as adventurous and curious, since I'm always ready to jump in new projects and learn new things. My biggest passion is communication: I love languages and making comparisons between them and helping people undestand each other. After years of judging myself for not being where I thought I was supposed to be, I've now come to accept myself and I'm enjoying my present. I know everything I need will come my way when I need it.

PHILOSOPHY: learn new things, spread love and abundance, share experiences and skills, help others, see the world, be happy, free and thankful.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm planning a two-month trip around Europe and I believe Couchsurfing is the best way to meet to new people and getting to know the places from the locals' perspective. In my short experience travelling, I've learnt that, though I enjoy being alone, it is not the same to aimlessly toy from one tourist attraction to another on your own than actually sharing it with people. I think that when you're open to new oportunities and have a positive attitude, you connect with people on a different level. I've had the greatest and most mind-blowing conversations with complete strangers. I'm also on Couchsurfing because I believe life is giving and receiving and I'd like to keep that energy flow going :)

Interests

I simply love the universe, so I like listening to people's stories, visiting new places and learning as much as I can to make the world a better place :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I like many styles and music from different countries. I like Argentinian and international rock music. I also like indie rock and 90's grunge. My favourite bands are The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and many, many, others. I also like quiet music like Bossa Nova and jazz.
As regards my favourite movies and books, I like lots of them. Let's see some: "Les Misérables", "La vita è bella", "Le fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain", "Central do Brasil", "Diario de motocicleta", "El secreto de sus ojos".
These are my favourite authors: Julio Cortázar, Jorge Luis Borges, Eduardo Galeano, Pablo Neruda, Octavio Paz and Sábato (Latin American); Chimamanda Adichie, Chinua Achebe and Manuel Rui (African); Shakespeare, Wilde, Joyce, Woolf, Poe, Doyle, Austen, Saramago and Mc Ewan (European), and of course my inner child loves Harry Potter's anthology

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I cycled from southern Argentina to Chile, crossing The Andes mountain range by bike. I this trip I learnt to trust myself and my intuition. I felt alone and I fell down countless times. I encountered tarantulas, tábanos (unbearable despicable insects), and many mishaps but I always felt I was on the right track.
- I've rescued, raised, fed and found shelter for 14 dogs, 4 cats, 1 rat and 1 bird. Whenever I find the chance to help others, I feel blessed and thankful for being in this position.
- I visited the southermost Inca ruin in Argentina. Without looking for it, I swam next to a family of dolphins in Brazil. I hiked at 4000 mts above sea level. I walked over a glacier and and visited the inside of an inactive volcano.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Spanish, English and Portuguese. I am a really good and creative cook and I love preparing vegan and vegetarian dishes, but I can cook pretty much everything. I enjoy sharing my passion for food, literature, languages, books, films, TV series, music and places in general.

I like learning about new things all the time. I'm always doing research on something new: one day I'm reading about permaculture and the next about French history. I'm curious and easily amazed at the world's wonders.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some Argentinian typical dishes and drinks (like mate, for example). I love preparing dinner parties and playing games. I like talking and hanging out around the city.
I'm also very good with children, as I have been working as a Primary School teacher for five years now.
