Overview
About Me
I love wandering, learning and appreciating every new place and person I meet.
Just livin' life with the flow and wanting to make the best of it.
Currently living and working in my beautiful hometown, Toronto. I work at a tech startup by day.
Not accepting guests at the moment, but would love to show travellers around this great city :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am new to the world of couchsurfing! I have heard nothing but great things about this community. I hope to share experiences with real people and gain insight and wisdom from other travellers themselves. I am fond of the idea of individuals teaching and helping each other out for the goodness of discovering new places and sharing personal experiences. Exploring begins with communicating.
I hope to host others in the future as well.
Interests
Music, photography, contemporary art, biking, hiking, gardening
Music, Movies, and Books
Favourite music genres:
Alt-Rock/Indie, Disco, Soul, R&B, Hip-Hop, French/Deep/UK House.
Some of my favourite things to do (in Toronto and beyond) are: disco/electro dance parties, biking to the shore, gallery-hopping and cultural events, market-going, cafés, drinking tea, and taking photos.
I still have a lot of films to watch in my lifetime-- I like things that are quirky cinematic, but also darkly satirical and psychologically thrilling. Some of the movies I've fallen in love with are: Wild Tales, Get Out, Lion, Raqueim For a Dream, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, American Beauty etc. I wish I lived in Netflix's "The Get Down".
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Any time I climb to a high vantage point and see everything below me; it reminds me how small we are, and how sublime the world is. You know, when your legs turn to jelly and you succumb to natures terrifying beauty?
I also lived in Nottingham for 6 months and recall fond memories of it almost everyday.
Teach, Learn, Share
Speaking one-on-one and learning about your culture, background and feelings. There's nothing better than listening to a new song, watching a new film, or doing a new thing because of someones very personal recommendation.
My identity as a first-generation Canadian has been at times troubling and confusing, but at times has taught me open-mindedness, curiosity and acceptance. I have been extremely privileged to grow up in the most multi-cultural city in the world, and I hope to carry this eagerness of learning into every new place and person I encounter.
I'd love to take your portrait too!
