I'm a 24-year-old student currently trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. Right now I'm concentrating on enjoying student life (the lectures, the people, the parties) and finishing my masters thesis.
If I had to name my favourite pastime it would probably be sitting in a park in the summer with beer and friends and chips and chocolate (I love chocolate) and just randomly hang out. So this is what I'm planning to do this summer, hopefully in many new and interesting places!

I live in Helsinki (which is awesome) but I have also lived in Berlin (also very awesome) and would love to move there again one time. Maybe when I'm sixty-four I go there to experience my second youth.

I am open minded and it's easy to make me laugh, which is why I enjoy meeting new people. Although I sometimes worry too much I try to make the best of everything, and traveling is the best way to learn to be more relaxed and spontaneous - that kind of person I'd always wanted to be!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have couchsurfed mostly in Germany and met some amazing and cool people. Couchsurfers and hosts tend to be super nice and fun to be around, and people are the main reason I travel.

Interests

Besides literature I study translation studies, German and Finnish.
I'm actually really into languages and could discuss for days about how things are expressed in different cultures and contexts.

I watch lots of series and read lots of books, but I also spend lots of time in the Internet reading about random weird and interesting and totally non-useful things. I'm not as sophisticated as I'm trying to pretend to be.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot (surprisingly, literature students usually do), and actually prefer books to music. On the other hand, I just love music festivals, but I go there mainly because of the general happy atmosphere, not to listen to specific artists. But I have to say that the Beatles has a special place in my heart.

I love to read the world classics like Steinbeck, Dostojevski or Vonnegut but I also do like fantasy like Tolkien and Pratchett. And I naturally love to talk about books!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The national parks of Tanzania. Wow, just wow. Seeing all the unbelievable animals like elephants and giraffes the animals up close but not behind bars was amazing , and I also snapped some gorgeous photos!
