About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be open to new opportunities, wherever they may lead me.

ABOUT ME

science meets theatre, with some funny anecdotes along the way

PHILOSOPHY

Good things take time. Great things take effort. The best things take quite a bit of both.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to try hosting, but I'd also like to get to know some couch surfers first by meeting up with them and showing them around to get a feel for the program.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've not tried couch surfing before, but a few friends raved that it was the best way to travel.

Interests

I love trying out new things/places/restaurants. Theatre, photography, and art when I can get them. I play a lot of recreational sports, mostly softball, kickball, and soccer. That's all when I can get out of my graduate research lab, which is not all that often.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies- gotta love "terrible" action flicks, comedies, and occasionally more serious ones
Music- pretty much everything- I love salsa and latin dance music, jazz, classical and choral, some pop, some american country, some indie etc. The key is, it has to suit my mood.
Books- Too many to name, I love reading. Some of my favorites are A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, the Stephanie Plum series, anything Phillip Pullman, the Reader, and many plays.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing things I've experienced typically have been when things go wrong. You get lost, have to change plans/be flexible, figure out where to go next. I find I pull through in the clutch and am a better person for it. That's how I visited the Galileo science museum in Florence, happened upon a wonderful afternoon in the British Museum, and found inner peace overlooking the Negev desert.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a decent amount about photography and theatre. And if you have science-related questions, I'm definitely a resource!
