I love the challenge and adventure of traveling to a new place- meeting new people, being inspired by their stories, and immersing myself in the local culture.

ABOUT ME

There was a girl. A girl with a plan. When the girl grew up she became a teacher. Then one day everything changed... a few years ago, armed with a degree in Education and some international teaching experience, the girl decided to run away and join the circus!

Travel is what inspires and excites her-- so that's where she puts her energy. In the past few years she's been under the waterfalls of Cataratas de Iguazu in Brasil, hitchhiked from Argentina to Chile, did a cartwheel on top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy, organized an outreach performance tour across Southeast Asia, and did handstands on the Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. Dancer, artist, gypsy, teacher, student. She is a very joyful girl. Movement is her expression. Her favorite sport is, and always has been, dress-up.

In 2015, she married her best friend and business partner. With Tyler, she travels to developing countries teaching and performing circus in orphanages, schools, and shelters for children. Read about their adventures on the road: www.circusofsmiles.blogspot.com

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Travel is what inspires and excites me. I will get up and go *anytime* the opportunity arises. I believe in the long-term kind of travel that gets you away from traditional tourism and right into the heart of the local people and culture. I have met some of my favorite travel buddies on CS.

Interests

Acrobatics, movement, salsa dancing, basically any kind of dance. Teaching. Theatre, coffee houses, cooking, photography, playing dress-up, rollerskating, farmer's markets, experimenting in the kitchen, nonprofit outreach work, vegetarianism, juggling, reading, working on my love of life... always. Travel. Living new places. I am deeply entangled in a love affair-- with the Spanish language. ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In 2011, my partner and I did a social circus tour (teaching and performing for children in Southeast Asia.) The highlight was performing at an Indonesian orphanage for children with special needs-- and getting them up on stage to do acrobatic feats of their own.
