About Me

I’m an outgoing guy who loves moving around, hanging out with people, listening to music, and drinking beers. I enjoy going to concerts and music festivals, playing board games, and discussing and debating sociology, politics, and psychology. I attach strong importance to being inclusive, welcoming, open, kind-hearted, self-aware, and empathetic.

I play the guitar a bit. I’m learning to draw, and I’m really bad at it, but I embrace the fact that learning takes time.

I live next to many concert venues in Paris, as well as my favorite jazz (and techno) club “La Gare”, many bars, and next to the canal where you can relax by the water during summer, play games, and have a picnic. I love my neighborhood, which is vibrant, young, and inclusive. I would love to show you around.

The rest of the time, I’m a Machine Learning Engineer working on Virtual and Augmented Reality, specifically on Hand Tracking.

I enjoy hosting both independent travelers who love to explore the city on their own and those who prefer a bit of company. Whether you want to venture out solo or would like me to show you some of my favorite spots, just let me know what you're in the mood for so I can plan accordingly.

During weekdays, I'll likely be working, but I'm happy to lend you my spare keys so you can make the most of your time here. I usually host for a maximum of 2 nights.

Looking forward to meeting you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I couchsurfed a bit when I was 20 to visit England. Now that I live in Paris, I want to host people to show them the city, as other couchsurfers have done for me before.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen mostly to indie rock and jazz. Nowadays, I am fond of Dirty Nice, a British pop-rock band with fun, lighthearted yet deep lyrics, and upbeat and playful melodies.

I’m fond of Asimov’s book series “Robots” and “Foundation”, and Alain Damasio’s books like “La Horde du Contrevent,” a very introspective and moving fantasy epic, as well as “Les Furtifs,” a science fiction book set in a near future constantly surveilled, tracked, and bombarded with advertisements where a new quasi-undetectable animal species appears. Damasio’s observations on human life, our societies, our wants and desires, always leave me deeply affected.
I read a bit of french poetry like Jacques Prévert. I don't know a lot more about poetry but I would love to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done a 3 week tour of Europe mainly by hitch-hiking (and some shuttle) with my best friend. We met a lot of nice people through couchsurfing and at the many gas stations we waited in. We even had a 3 hour ride with a Slovenian who didn't speak English. We communicated only with very simple words and signs.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a background in cognitive science, but my interests extend far beyond that. I love discussing politics, sociology, and psychology with a focus on inclusivity. I’m tired of the constant pressure to perform and the idea that life is a challenge to be conquered. I believe our capitalist society is harmful to us as humans. We need to listen to each other and be kind, understanding that it’s okay to take our time, make mistakes, and learn from them. It’s a beautiful part of the human experience.

Beyond deep conversations, I can also show you Paris, especially its northeastern part. Far away from the touristic areas of Paris, this is where the actual Parisians live! I can also show you all of Paris, from the Eiffel Tower to Le Marais, walking along the Seine.

I also really like visiting MOMAs so if you're into modern art I would love to go visit them with you.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook you some typical French meals and a few Japanese ones thanks to my friend Kengo, whom I met through Couchsurfing 5 years ago and with whom I’ve been great friends since.
