Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For the short term,
I'm relocating to NYC and visiting to find a residence. I need a place to stay while apartment hunting. I'm very self-sufficient, respectful,neat,and out-going. Any help greatly appreciated.
For longer term, I believe couchsurfing would be a great way to meet new people and friends throughout world and explore different cultures without being touristy.
