About Me

Hi, welcome to my profile 👋🏼 I’m glad that you found your way here!

ABOUT ME
I’m Pauline, a 20-year-old girl from Germany.
I would describe myself as an open-minded, (most of the time) positive, communicative, enthusiastic woman that would love to explore the whole wide world and meet interesting people along the way.

CURRENT MISSION
To travel and see as many of the different facets this beautiful planet earth has to offer while I’m here & have the chance to, to learn more through experience, improve my English every day, push myself out of my comfort zones, to become a better version of myself (sounds so cliché haha) and to leave the world a little bit better behind than the way I found it.

VISION
That one day eventually my grandkids grow up on a planet that’s not drowning in plastic or garbage in general and that they get the chance to live a beautiful life here, because we, our generations, took responsibility for our actions and strongly believed that together, if everyone contributes, we can actually make a change for the better. And that it is not impossible or too late. At least not just yet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me this concept is part of how I imagine traveling to be. Not just sleeping in a hotel, living the typical “touristy” life, but actually learning from cultural differences, sharing stories, meeting interesting people from all over the world, seeing the place you are at through the eyes of people that actually live there, becoming friends with people you’ve otherwise probably never met ... It’s exciting all together!
So far the few experiences I made here were great all in their own special way, and I genuinely hope this will continue! I also can’t wait to host people where I live.

Interests

One of the main reasons why I joined this community is because I wanted to meet more like-minded people, that value traveling and its benefits, as well as I’d love to meet people from all over the world generally. On top of that, having a good cup of tea or coffee + sharing a good conversation is a combination I appreciate a lot. I love being in good company, around family& friends, the people I love, or also people I just met. As much as I enjoy talking, exchanging different views on topics, expanding my horizon I also always need alone-time, that I actually quite enjoy. On of my favorite animals and pets is even welcome than: my cat, or cats in general. I just love those creatures! A thing that probably sounds quite boring & cliché, but is just so interesting and good that I don’t care if people judge me about it: I LOVE food! A cold, good beer is also something I’d only reject in emergency cases. Well, I obviously talked to much, (hope there’s someone out there, who will take the time to read all this, haha) so I’d just suggest that about everything else we could simply talk :)

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite artist will probably ever be Ed Sheeran. “Hell yeah”! I listen to & enjoy many different styles of music, just enjoy good songs that give me good vibes. Honestly, there’s lots of good music out there, it’s hard to decide. Fav. band @tm: Lord Huron <3
My friends made me become a Marvel movie fan, I will also forever and always love (old) Disney movies. The Harry Potter series (books & movies), The Alchemist (P. Coelho), The little Prince (A. de Saint-Exupéry).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Honestly, the decision to pack my backpack and go on a solo travel adventure for the first time in my life turned out to be a pretty amazing decision.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well... I feel like right now I have lots to learn, less to teach, but maybe we’ll find something (people had fun learning some german (swearing) words from me). I’m always open to share my knowledge, even though I don’t feel like it’s a lot at this present point of time. But I love good conversations, exchange of and discussions about different points of views, a little bit of philosophy here and there ... a warm cup of tea or coffee, maybe some music and a good conversation - here we go!

What I Can Share with Hosts

The last few years I felt like I’ve done or learned things, because I have been told to do so, and right now I feel like it’s my time to learn even more through experience compared to what I’ve did before. So, I really enjoy listening to other people’s stories (everyone has its own to tell somehow) and I hope we can share a good conversation.
Maybe I can share some of my few experiences with you, teach you some German words or even if we’re ‘just’ having a good conversation or good time in general, without teaching each other important life lessons, isn’t that enough sometimes? We’ll see. Would be another point to discuss...

Oh, before I forget it: If you need any help around the house I’m always willing to help!
