Aloha, my name is Pauline! I was born in the Philippines and moved to America when I was 9. I'm fluent in two languages but I'm very eager to learn a new one!

I decided to take a few months off from work and school to travel across Europe four times (2014, 2016, 2019, 2022) Asia three times (2017, 2018, 2022) and South America once (2021.) I decided to embark on those adventures to discover myself and to really see the world through my own eyes. Ever since then, my outlook on life has completely changed. My desire to see the rest of the world has gotten a lot stronger.

I lived in Nepal for part of 2022 and solo trekked the Himalayas (Everest Base Camp and nearby glacier passes & the Annapurna Circuit.)

Now, I'm currently preparing for my next adventure and return to Nepal to summit three peaks (Island Peak, Mera Peak, Lobuche East.) As well as make my way down to Tanzania to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro. Hopefully all within 2024 but latest early 2023! Then off to New Zealand to tramp the Te Araroa trail for 4-5 months!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I first signed up I didn't know what to expect. My first CS experience was in Dublin for St. Patrick's Day 2016. I attended a CS meetup the night before and had met many other travelers. I just instantly clicked with every single one of them. We shared experiences that we've had throughout our travels and even exchanged tips on traveling! That was just from that one event.

Ever since then I've attended more CS events and have met up with locals. I found that meeting up with locals is the best way to really experience the culture and I've always gotten great recommendations on where to go and what to see.

Being on Couchsurfing has given me the chance to see beyond just a city's surface. It has allowed me to stray away from the tourist sites and really explore the hidden gems and locations of the places I visit.

And that is why I'm on Couchsurfing. I want to continue having those experiences and meeting new people. Not only that but to also share my experiences and knowledge with other travelers. :)

Interests

If there's anything I'm really passionate about, it would be dancing. I also enjoy singing but have no talent for it!

I like going to the gym and working out but I wouldn't say you would find me there everyday.

I love traveling and seeing the world!!

I'm always up for an adventure! Want to hike, bungee jump, sky dive, or just go and do something spontaneous? I'm your woman!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm an impulse buyer of plane tickets. I've spontaneously purchased them and flew just a few days later!

Backpacking across Europe is always amazing! (which is probably a normal thing to have done in the CS community though)

Solo trekked the Himalayas of Nepal.
