Hey couchsurfers! My name is Pauline (I prefer Line), I'm 21 years old and I live in Germany, Leipzig together with my boyfriend Adam, many extraordinary plants and the two most amazing cats in the world named Rue and Souci (both weird French names, we found Ruelle (Rue means road/street) in France on a motorway service area as a baby, very peaked and weak and took her with us - and Souci means worry/anxiety because that's what she looked like as a baby, we got her from my mothers cat). Enough about cats. Hope you're not allergic. I am currently studying intercultural European- and American studies and science of media and communication in Halle, very close to Leipzig. I love learning new languages, just German, English and an average French is unsatisfying. I want to travel a lot more without spending too much money so I guess this is a good chance for me - or for "us", since I have the sweetest boyfriend who's btw playing the violin in the MDR orchestra in Leipzig. We have a pull out couch for 2 people and if you're a lucky one we'd even take the couch and offer our bed to you. Smoking is possible on the balcony, but not in the apartment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Obviously because I don't want to spent loads of money on travelling but still want to travel. Also, I want to get to know other cultures and languages, other traditions, food, music, literature.

Interests

Environment, plants and gardening, music, culture, people, art, animals, sometimes sports and food. I don't eat meat but it's totally fine if you do so, my boyfriend does so, too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music! I listen to almost everything from ZAZ to Queen to Techno to classical music to Beyoncé to Stromae to electro to swing... I also like to sing, play piano and flute. I don't have one favourite movie but I'd probably go for Harry Potter, Some like it hot, Aschenbrödel, Imitation Game, La boum... I also watch Sherlock, Dexter, Game of Thrones, Gilmore Girls and Sense 8. Favourite books would be Harry Potter, le petit prince, books by Jostein Gaarder, Paulo Coelho oh and Colin Beavens bare feet in Manhattan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was one of 5 spokespersons on federal level of the voluntary ecological year and met so many people, politicians and were able to do many amazing things like being guest of Deutschlandfunk radio, traveling throughout Germany seeing places I wouldn't have seen since I live in Germany anyway.

Teach, Learn, Share

If it's spring/summer I can teach you some basics about gardening since I'm a total plant enthusiast who's part of a community garden here in Leipzig, growing own food, hosting tons of plants at home and on the balcony. Maybe I could try to teach you flute - just a little. I would love to learn a bit about your language and culture and if you have other talents, I'm open, too!
