About Me

Hi,
I am
P - powerful
A - adventurous
U - unique
L - light-hearted
i - intelligent

As just spelled above I am a sunshine, always seeing the bright side of live, trying to see the positive in every situation and only the best in all people. I love to discover new cultures, countries and get to know other like-minded travelers and locals.
In my free-time I am usually somewhere in the world, getting to know a new place and/or visiting friends or family. I would say I am a city-girl, since I enjoy the convenience of having everything close by, best in walkable distance and that there is always something going on. On the other hand, I love to be in the nature and enjoy (wild) camping and chilling in my hammock in a park or forrest. In the winter I like going snowboarding or winter hiking & camping. In the summer I love to be at the beach, in the ocean and enjoy all kind of water sports such as waterskiing, diving and swimming.
My friends would describe me as a little crazy, always living live to the fullest and being completely in the moment. Friends are very important for me and I am always available to them, no matter which time zone I am in.

Concluding I can say I am living up to my motto "Don't dream you life, live you dream!".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing to get to know locals and gain other insights into the culture and the country as if I would be "just" a touristy backpacker:)
I love connecting with people and just having a good time.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music are the 80s and country music. But I am pretty open to almost anything, I can't stand techno and electric music though. I also love to sing along, especially on roadtrips, but I cannot say I am very good at singing:D It brings me joy and singing with others in a car, in a bar or just anywhere is just so much fun that it doesn't matter to me how good I sound.

My favorite movie is Sisi but I am also a Top Gun fan! And I love classics like Pretty Woman, Crocodile Dundee, 10 things I hate about you, Matrix, Inception or Forrest Gump. Oh, and I love movies like Da Vinci Code and National Treasure! I just hate horror movies and everything with Zombies and Aliens.

My favorite book... that's hard. I love reading. My favorite authors are Kerstin Gier and Samantha Chase. I love the Inkheart trilogy from Cornelia Funke and I am Harry Potter Fan, I also enjoyed reading the greek mythology books from Josephine Angelini.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing that I did I think surprises for people that I love. Just showing up for Thanksgiving cooking at my host family in the US, surprising my family in Germany for Christmas, my brother for his 18th birthday, my host child for her birthday or flying from the US to Germany for just 3 days to attend my best friends' wedding.

One amazing experience I have had was when I was traveling in Norway and the bridge that my bus had to cross to get me to the airport was closed (at least for the bus). No one knew if it would open soon and I really had to catch that flight since I had three other connecting flights...
I was already researching alternatives like bus and train routes or other flight possibilities and chatting with my friend on the phone who still was in our Airbnb (her flight was later in the afternoon). When I got off the bus, the only other passenger (a man, maybe in his 40s) asked me if I figured out how to get to the airport, apparently he overheard my conversation with the bus driver and assumed the trouble. I told him no and he offered that he could give me ride since his work is not far from the airport and his car is just a few blocks away from the bus station.
I was so lucky that I met that man and he was so kind to offer that. He was a complete stranger, I never saw him again but I he made my day, I got to my flight and I will always be very grateful that he did that for me. It showed that it is worth it being kind and offering strangers help, I always try to do the same and help tourists and strangers if they seem lost or need help.

Teach, Learn, Share

There are toothpaste tablets! You don't need to save space for toothpaste in your little plastic bag in you carryon if you use those. Very helpful, changed my packing. And Vaseline is an allrounder: make-up remover, cream and lip balm.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share insights about my culture (German). I love to talk. I can talk a lot... If you want to hear a crazy (travel) story, I am sure I have one;) I enjoy chatting about cultures and languages, their differences and similarities but also about hobbies. I love to cook and bake and am happy to share German recipes of my favorite meals, if time, materials and ingredients are given.
