ABOUT ME

Just got back to the States after 4.5 months in India, which I loved. Not planning any trips now but still have the travel bug, which I hope can be alleviated by meeting travelers passing through.

PHILOSOPHY

I just like to have a variety of experiences, as they can make for good stories. I figure even a bad experience is worth it if there's pleasure in the re-telling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't yet hosted or even Couchsurfed (I wish I'd done it in India, but just never got around to it). I hope to meet others in LA who host travelers and maybe grab a drink with a traveler who wants to know more about LA, Santa Monica and the Westside.

Interests

Softball! I love playing catch. Also like active things (hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, rock climbing etc.). Love eating new foods and trying new things. I'm addicted to Groupon stuff here, so I keep doing stuff like skeet shooting, jewelry classes, circus classes, water yoga, and things along that vein.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love U.S. country music. Don't knock it until you've really listened! Favorite movies are Shawshank, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Field of Dreams. Favorite book is East of Eden. Favorite TV shows are Community and Parks & Rec.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like riding in the back of pickup trucks in lovely locations, so one of my favorite memories of Ecuador is riding on a truck in the bumpy Quilotoa mountains, and that's also my favorite memory of Isla Ometepe in Nicaragua.
