About Me

Hello, hello! My name is Pauline.
I'm a 26-year old Dutchie, living in Rotterdam. At the moment, I am traveling the north of the USA. I've been a big lover of couchsurfing and would love to get to know locals and share stories, food, anekdotes and views on life.

About me: I am an artist-designer-sociologist, confused about which title I should be going for while embarking on my freelance-activities. I'm really into politics and activism (I'm a member of three political parties back home, oops), reading, literature, the lyrics in music, feminism and all inclusive-queer-progressive movements generally. Swimming, bread and biking are the things that make me happiest. I get very confused by fahrenheit, feet and inches Just stop it already, Americah.

Anyway, I love-love-love meeting with and talking to strangers, anywhere, anytime. I can share good food, crazy Sociology facts, a bunch of unnecessary information about biking and a whole lot of jokes. If you need some help in or around the house, I'd be happy to give a hand (I'm also a huge WorkAway-lover).

Big fan of kindness. Very open to a wide variety of philosophies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have a couch so it better be used to its full potential. ;-)
(and it's awesome).

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a blind spot for music, which is compensated by the amount of books I like to read. I'd be happy to share my recommendations. Tip of the veil: anything by Ngozi Adichie! And A Little Life. But you will cry like a baby (or that's what I did).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I made a bread suit once and got attacked by hundreds of pigeons, sitting on the main square of Amsterdam. I also tried to cancel the year 2020 but that didn't really work out.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Two ears that like to listen while trying to make you feel at home in the GrEaT CiTy of Rotterdam. And food! Stroopwafels, anyone?
