ABOUT ME

I am a bike mechanic and salesman; I started a community bicycle co-operative in Maryland, just Northeast of DC in Mount Rainier, my home town. See more at mrbikecoop.com. I am now on a trip to Brasil, mostly on bicycle. See more at biketobrazil.blogspot.com. I love meeting new people and seeing new places. I speak Spanish and Portuguese, and aim to use these with the locals on my path.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

CouchSurfing is a great way to connect with folks all over the world, locally, for hosting and meeting up for activities. I participate at home by hosting, and on the road by surfing couches and bringing together local CS'ers for activites.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed in Austin, San Antonio, Kingsville, (all Texas) plus Cosoleacaque, Veracruz, Mexico. It has been special to meet up with locals and bring together local CSers for activities such as drinking wine, dinner, conversation and bike rides.

I like documentaries on Netflix.

I like Pandora radio, especially these stations: "Good Life--One Republic" and "Luiz Gonzaga and Elba Ramalho", who are Forro artists, and Forro is a dance and music genre from NorthEast Brasil.

I am working on these books: Brazil on the Rise, and Brownsville: Stories.
