Overview
About Me
I'm a PhD student who likes adventure and meeting new people. I am serious about my work (and science in general) and crazy about music, especially jazz. I'm a drummer, playing in a jazz quartet ('50-ies bebop mostly). Besides music, I'm interested in all forms of art, literature, photography, painting, food, and other cultures.
I prefer to host when I have time to show surfers around the city, and to get to know them better. Otherwise, I'm also always up for a beer!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
On my travels I have met great people - travellers, people who picked me up hitchhiking, locals who even welcomed me in their house. I'm grateful for these positive experiences and I want to pass this on by offering my couch to travellers.
I've hosted a few surfers at my place and hoping to be as nice and respectful of a guest as my surfers were.
Interests
Art, music (jazz!), photography, literature, movies. Good food (just about everything), Scotch single malt whisky and Belgian beers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking/backpacking across the Rocky Mountains to meet up with a friend from Toronto in a small village on Vancouver Island.
Met my German girlfriend in Victoria (western Canada) and we've been together since.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm open to learning about anything; culture, cooking, views on life.
I can introduce/share (the history of) jazz, music in general, engineering. And maybe share some cooking ideas?
What I Can Share with Hosts
A warm house and nice company.
