Overview
About Me
I'm 29 years old. A Kentucky transplant living in Alaska. I'm very laid back and open minded. I love the outdoors, I love to learn new things, and I love to share other people's cultures and experience someone's perspective on life. I'm a geek. I drink a lot of coffee. I make really good fried chicken, if that's your thing.
I'm also passionate about helping others and community service. I currently mentor an at risk youth through Big Brothers Big Sisters. In the past I've also volunteered as a an instructor for Junior Achievement and a volunteer income tax preparer in rural Alaska -- if you have family in Saint Paul Island, Alaska, there's a very good chance I've done their taxes!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to meet people and see the world. I also want to help more people travel cheaply.
As a guest, my philosophy is that a guest should reciprocate their hosts' generosity by helping with household chores, cleaning, cooking a meal for them, and just generally providing good vibes and positivity. I want the good Karma I put out as a guest to equal the good Karma my host is putting out to me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: The Clash, Tool, random pop music, random classic and alternative rock, random hip hop
Books: Currently reading the A song of Ice and Fire series. The Martian and Rogue Lawyer are among my other recent favorites. Trying to start reading more non-fiction.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On July 4 last year I crossed a glacier, skinny dipped in a glacial lake, and climbed a mountain on the same day.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm currently working as a programmer. If you'd like to learn to write a little code, I can help you out.
I love learning about new cultures and food.
I grew up in Kentucky and can share a great fried chicken recipe with you.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm happy to help with any housework and will gladly cook you a meal if you'd like.
I could also teach you to write a little code or help you set up a web site.
