About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is to learn something new from everyone I meet, to treat everyone as an equal, to defend my freedom and to enjoy life at its best.

ABOUT ME

I love to learn new things, to photograph the beauty of the world, to play with my son and see him growing and developing. I love the contact with nature, the sea, the beach, the forest and the mountains. I love doing sports, specially skiing, swimming and riding a bike, although I feel lazy to do them sometimes. I love good food, good wine, good beer, good music and good conversation. I love provocative thoughts and to know what's going on in the world. I love to see how people can be creative in arts, in life-style and in the struggle for a fairer world. In fact, I love to discuss politics and to engage in political activities. I'm very open and respectful to different views and I love to learn new understandings about politics, society and life.

PHILOSOPHY

Great part of my time I spend researching and teaching sociology and political science. Knowledge is never enough and I believe the best ones are those we get from great experiences in life. Great experiences are more likely to happen when we are out of our own place and meeting different people from different backgrounds. We grow when we're nomads.
A nomad can only survive as such when treats everyone as an equal, with maximum respect. Them it's just about enjoying life and the freedom.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to CS, but since the first time I heard about it from a friend, I got fascinated. So I wanna engage in this as a way of getting to know new people, making new friends, learning different cultures and the best of each country: its people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Living in Europe for 7 years I have had several experiences in sleeping in someone else's couches and lending my couch to friends and to friends of friends. But I never did it by a website.

Interests

I am very interested in travelling, exchanging thoughts and ideas, discovering new music, new flavours, enjoying the nature, having fun and doing sports.
I am insterested in people more than in objects.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm very eclectic in music. It depends of the mood I'm in. I love jazz, house, dub, different varieties of rock, bossa nova, samba, flamenco, classic, reggae, african... and most of fusions.
My favourites: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Vinicius de Moraes, Bezerra da Silva, Fella Kuti, Mulatu Astatke, Le Tigre...

Movies: Breaking the Waves, Babel Tower, Matrix, Dogville, Amores Perros, The boy in striped pijamas, In Time..., Star Wars

Books: I don't have much time for literature other than academic. The last ones that I loved were Crime and Punishment and Brave New World.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Diving in the great barrier reef, Australia. I got amazed about the amount of colours and shapes of fishes and corals. It was the most beautiful and unforgettable view I've ever seen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I wanna learn different cultures, ways of life, ways to understand the others, the world and ourselves. I can teach my views about the world, my role in the world and the importance of the self-knowledge, the freedom and the equality.
I teach as a profession because I like to share the fascinated things I've learnt and to help people think deeply by their own. When I teach I learn different views from students and I have to question my self all the time. It is a constant challenge to my own point of view. So I'm always open to learn and to change.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am generally quiet, independent and always clean after me. I can also cook brazillian food.
