About Me

Please read,

Please give me some advance request notice at least a day or two, a week or even longer is better. I mostly want to have people from other countries visit as I want to learn about your country and culture and get info for my travel future.

I want people who are interested in our life and seeing the natural areas like the Redwoods and beach that is here.

Please want to visit for these reasons and not because you were Travelling and got stuck in my town and just want a bed for the night. I am sorry, I am not a hotel and life is incredibly busy for me sometimes.

I may suddenly go on a hike, go fishing or camping., mushroom foraging
Please do not be disappointed if I say no. Sometimes it is just a bit busy or I am out of town.

Singles are also easier at this time as I don’t have much space at home, but if you are a couple and need to stay together I understand. Sometimes I have my children at home too.

At the moment I have comfy cots but if my two teens are at their mothers for the week then I can offer up their beds and bedroom for additional privacy.

CURRENT MISSION

To make up for lost time, enjoy life the best I can with my family and friends.

ABOUT ME

Been around quite a bit, made some left turns, rights turns and ups and downs. Things I regretted and things I loved that I did.

PHILOSOPHY

We are students of life, we are always learning. Whatever we do should be to improve humanity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've done some before, usually with people I know or thru those people except for some times in San Francisco. I open my doors to my friends and last year I made two extraordinary friends from Canada when I met them at Starbucks.

I also met a couple from Switzerland and invited them. They just needed a new tent pole so we went to my house and I fixed their tent pole. They were very grateful and gave me some Swiss chocolate in return.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Last September I met these two wonderful sisters from Canada at Starbucks. They wanted to see the place and were cold and tired from camping in the rain. I invited them in. The first evening we talked over beer, went for a short hike from the house. The next day I took of work and we loaded up into my truck. We did some 4 wheeling and I took them up high in the Siskiyou's to a meadow that had a view of the mountains. We sat in the meadow, clouds blowing by at tree top level.
We made it back and I picked up my kids from my ex wife. We enjoyed a night with the kids and the sisters had a great time watching us play. In the morning I was sad for them to leave but two months later they came back thru in early December.
We had a great dinner with m two kids then I took us all to the Christmas lights at Azalea Park in Brookings, Oregon. There were car rollers there and the girls jumped in. They loved the lights and we had a great time together. Life was good. I have two great friends I can visit in the future.
