PHILOSOPHY

recently, one of my meditation teachers told me that i needed to get off the mountain. what he meant was that i needed to experience things ouutside of my mind. so, my aim is to Be out There, doing Good knowing that every moment is a chance to [re]create ourselves!

A sometimes serious reader, Dostoevsky is someone I hold dear because I have an extensive history with the man. [He is my longest relationship]. In addition, I read works by: people with prizes, people with nothing. I'm a sucker for beatniks.., hoboes, monks, monks-turned-priests, social critics, scientists. Also, I've rediscovered the graces of poetry.

I used to be in my head and now I'm very much in my body.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

choppered over the grand canyon

rockclimbing in Korea

luging in New Zealand
in NZ each morning you are greeted with a rainbow.

swam with sharks along the great barrier reef

surfed never-ending sand dunes

rolling stones in concert- durham,nc

built homes w Habitat in Guatemala

jumped off an 18m bridge

cared for my little cousin (during the first 3-4 months of his life!)

sailed a double masted tall ship for twenty days--
catalina island

lived on a boat in the caribbean

got wild withe the wild things in the rain forest

caught two flounder on one hook (carolina beach surf)

visited with monks/stayed in monasteries throughout Nepal

bungee jumping in Bali

accidentally ran (and won) a 15k race in a Mongolian forest (barefoot)
rode horseback in Mongolia with my mom
almost fell into a shithole

jumped out of a plane

hiked the Cactus to Clouds trail on whim

caught ONE wave, and i'm still riding..
