I love to travel, see new places and learn new things!

Moving to Finland was the definitive moment in my life. It was in Europe that I became convinced that true self-development is only possible through travel and getting connected with a the people worldwide. My very first trips, to Bavaria and Sweden, were such a groundbreaking experience that I got irreversibly addicted to travel!

Outside travel, I appreciate the feeling of discovery and creation of something new - unsurprisingly, as I am a university researcher :) I have a lot of hobbies and a lot of them involve writing something - I like when some trace is left of your dreams, ideas and memories. I've kept a diary for 7 years and written a lot of fiction and hobby-related research. Besides, I do a lot of sports, watch good films with friends (we have a little "movie club"), listen and play music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel and make new friends all around the globe!

After my wonderful Australian experience, I know that nothing can replace living with the locals, hanging out with their friends and doing the stuff locals do. It's very absorbing way to travel - well, you know! And CouchSurfing provides an excellent opportunity to do it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Deep purple, Black Sabbath, Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Caravan, Camel, Magma, Van Der Graaf Generator, Gryphon, Metallica. So, a lot of wickedly eclectic oldies :)

Movies: all of Tarkovsky, all of Kubrick, all of Lynch. I go to regular Film club meetings at the Uni. Helsinki, where we watch a lot of rare and art-house films.

Books: all of Stanislav Lem & other good sci-fi, Stephen King, Erich Maria Remark, Andrzej Sapkowski; non-fiction: a lot of history and archaeology-related stuff.
