About Me
I guess what essential to say about myself is how I see my purpose in life, or my calling - and, let's just say, I'm still working on it.
Having spent most of my time over the last six years managing clients at PR and ad agencies, editing copies and visuals and arranging content production (the mere expression makes me a bit sick), I get that there is something more there for me, and I guess I'll make a shift elsewhere soon.
What I cherish the most about my life is the possibility to explore all kinds of art and meeting all the beautiful, crazy, smart, confused and amazing people I have been blessed to know. Hope this is what couchsurfing is about.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Disclaimer: This might sound too egotistic (because it is).
Around two days before going on my first trip to Europe, I realized that there are better ways to spend my money in Berlin than wasting it on renting a hostel bed.
Exactly five years ago (thank you, Facebook) I went on a trip to Odessa with a friend and we tried doing some last-minute couchsurfing, but failed and opted to living in a hostel. Maybe this time around it will be vice-versa :)
I'm all about giving back and giving in general, so would be happy to host all the you-name-it (see above) people at my place in the suburbs of Moscow :)

Music, Movies, and Books
A friend of mine said all the music I like sounds the same and is performed by whiny girls.
Though not entirely true (and spoken mostly about Tori Amos), she has a point: I lived through months of my life with Portishead, or Goldfrapp, or Bat for Lashes - or some Russian artist you are hardly familiar with. To all the fans of the aforementioned bands, mind that I don't consider their leaders whiny :)
Here are some of my favorites, in no particular order: The National, St. Vincent, Tune-Yards, Dead Can Dance, Morphine, Bonobo, Susanne Sundfør, Marina and the Diamonds, Sylvan Esso, Thievery Corporation, Grimes, Anna Ternheim, Dead Can Dance, Beach House, Blonde Redhead. Yep, I'm a Pitchfork kid and a 4AD fan.
I read not nearly enough for a person who loves reading as much as I do - but read a lot and enjoyed a lot of pieces by Philip Dick, Stephen Fry, Vladimir Nabokov, Victor Pelevin, Vladimir Sorokin, Fyodor Dostoevsky (do forgive me for mixing the classics with the contemporaries).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This part of the bio is meant for some amazing and heroic stuff, apparently, and filter out those dull guys incapable of it.
Well, I seem to be one of those guys, but still, there's at least one heroic thing I did: overcoming my lack of musical hearing. Being a fan of music, I had always considered myself a bit of a loser for being incapable of hitting a single note. Now I can. Sometimes more than a single note in a row!
