About Me

Hello, name's Pavel or Paul. Whatever you prefer. I grew up in Moscow, one of the biggest megapolis, but later moved to Helsinki, Finland to connect with my finnish ancestry. And to be honest I prefer chill European rhythm of life over Moscow's intensity. However I am forever in love with Russia, its culture, music, people, warmheartedness, vastness, occasional, - or rather regular - insanity, and I am more than happy to share this passion of mine with people I meet on my way.

I am very easygoing, some would say even aerie, and in my daily life I enjoy to connect people and make things happen.

Currently my main focus is on organizing non-profit festival-like events in Helsinki area. 'Thanks' to pandemic all proper productions went to thrash, and I believe its up to passionate people like my friends and acquittances here to push cultural life forward, and maybe even elevate it to a new level.

And I love music & festivals. Magic of connecting from different backgrounds, living together through unique experience weaved by DJs, decorators, organizers and ourselves is precious to me.

I hope to meet like-minded people in here, and our house is always open for these.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love and play electronic music - tribal, dark, disco, noisy and much more.
But this passion has roots in my old time favourites like Faine Jade, Beatles, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Radiohead, Sublime, RHCP, russian arists like Grazhdanskaya Oborona, Akvarium, Kino and many many more. Genre wise Im open to everything, but somehow never really got into rap music and culture.

Movie-wise lately I mostly watch it during festivals due to lack of time. But Wes Anderson, Terry Gilliam, Gaspar Noe, Woody Allen, Tarantino, Aki Kaurismaki, Fellini, J-L Godar, von Trier, Wenders and russians Tarkovsky, Balabanov, Zvyagintsev, German, Daneliya --- those are some of directors whos works have found a place in my heart.

I dont have favourite genre of literature, and my interests here change very rapidly. I love Hemingway's way of being very brief but hit right in the bullseye with words, Kafka for his prophetic picture of 20 century insanity; Irwin Welsch for being a best friend to me in my darkest teenage years; Hesse, Bukowski, Miller and others for teaching me how to live and think; Tolstoy and Dostoevsky for showing me what is love; Bradbury, Wonnegut and brothers Strugatski for teaching me to dream; Orwell, Huxley, Platonov and Solzhenitsin for beware me; King, Poe and Lovecraft for showing me fear; Tom Wolf and Kapote for teaching me being observant; Castaneda for showing ways of spirit; and finally Dovlatov for making me laugh my ass off.
I could talk about literature all day honestly. Especially Russians.
