Overview
About Me
I was born in Poznan, Poland but turned out to be a bit of a nomad - I spent 1/3 of my life living somewhere else. Let's see... I did my last year of high school in the US, and then worked for a couple of months in the Yosemite National Park in California. I worked in hospitality for over 6 months, in a place called Isle of Wight in England. Then I moved to Ireland, where I worked in a hotel bar for over a year. After that I spent a couple of months backpacking through SE Asia.
Finally in 2010 I went to Perth, Australia, to finish uni and ended up staying there for good. In December 2016 I finished a big project, and decided to take a bit of time off and go traveling. I've been on the road for 4.5 months now. Most of it in Indonesia. The plan is to keep going west and then north to Thailand, Burhma, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. And then to Mongolia through China onto Russia and Europe.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've traveled with a partner and on my own. I'm Couchsurfing to experience what I'd miss when relying only on these two styles: the local perspective.
Interests
Traveling (obviously). Fitness because it's the only area that improving on will benefit every other areas of your life. Harden your body to harden your spirit. Always up for learning new skills and improving myself as a person. Any outdoor activities. Hiking, surfing, cycling or simply going for a long walk.
Music, Movies, and Books
Whatever I enjoy that's what I listen to. I have a soft spot for Polish hip hop because I've been following it ever since its humble beginnings. Books: less function these days. Enders Game, The Witcher, Rat King. I could read them all the time. A lot of self-mastery books: The Magic of Thinking Big, Obstacle is the Way, Think and Grow Rich to name a few. You absorb whatever you expose yourself to, it becomes a part of you and guides our actions whether you realize it or not. That's why when it comes to movies and books I'm looking for themes of persistence, perseverance, optimism, courage etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I came to Aus in 2010 for the first time without knowing a single soul, and with little money. Four years later I was a proud citizen, with a steady job and a trusted and close social circle.
