About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Settle in to a happy life in a nice town in Europe, and keep travelling from there.

ABOUT ME

I am currently living in Toulouse, France. I came here in September 2012, to teach English in a high school for eight months. After this, I decided to stay and begin my Master's programme here.

I have previously lived in Denmark and Sweden on exchange, and have travelled around plenty of Europe as well as a scattering of other countries outside of Europe.

PHILOSOPHY

I only live once, and my life is a summation of my experiences, so I need as many as possible.
In New Zealand, we have no real culture or history of our own, and also pretty much only have the opportunity to learn English (natively). After beginning to see the world, I've decided I want to experience as much as I can.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Whenever I have a couch available, I open it to surfers. I've hosted several groups whilst I was in Wellington, and plan to host plenty more in France when I get the opportunity.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosting, surfing, etc.

Interests

Languages and linguistics. Culture and history.

Guitar, lots of it, and music in general.

General philosophy rubbish, can't get enough off it.

Legal and philosophical background means I love to argue aimlessly about nothing. Woo.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music, guitar and guitar-centric, any genre. Rock, Folk, Blues, Jazz, Metal, its all good. I'm open to any sort of music. I even came from an intense rap background in my youth (from before rap turned entirely into hip hop).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A Squirrel in London. In NZ we don't have Squirrels. It was amazing! Also, Desert Foxes in Egypt! Massive ears.

Russia, and especially St. Petersburg, was one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had, I can't even begin to describe the feel of it actually being there.

Teach, Learn, Share

I might be able to teach some basic guitar stuff, but don't expect too much. A bit of a jam and some basic fun limited by my ability could happen though.

If you have a strange interest in Danish, Swedish, French, or extremely technical English, I can assist. If you speak Danish, Swedish, French or Italian, I want to meet with you and force you to endure my horrid attempts.

Countries I’ve Visited

Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, France, Germany, Italy, Laos, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Denmark, New Zealand, Sweden
