Overview
About Me
I've been an avid traveler for many years, and had countless positive experiences with Couchsurfing. Now that my partner and I have settled for a while in Far West Texas, we want to start hosting more often and giving back to the Couchsurfing community-- we are excited to have awesome travel friends come to us!
In the last decade or so, I've bounced around a lot. I taught English for two years in rural South Korea, backpacked around Asia and southern Africa, was a nanny and personal assistant in L.A., tended bar and sang in a band in New Orleans, worked on vineyards in Texas and farms in Kentucky and Virginia, and served with the Utah Conservation Corps.
I'm a bartender, bibliophile, caffeine addict, IPA-enthusiast, (mostly) vegan, jazz singer, pun-lover, and (obviously) traveler! I love making and listening to great music, making new friends, and taking in the myriad of experiences the world has to offer. Something else you'd like to know? Just ask! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To be as cheesy as possible-- "There are no such things as strangers... only friends I haven't met yet."
I love traveling and meeting new people (like most people on Couchsurfing... duh)! There is nothing more fulfilling to me than creating new, amazing friendships with people from around the world, and there is nothing more educational than having friends from all different places, backgrounds, and walks of life!

Music, Movies, and Books
From classic rock to sultry jazz to indie pop, I'm told my musical tastes are quite eclectic. Some of my favorites include Elle King, AC/DC, Amy Winehouse, Etta James, and Bonnie Raitt.
My favorite movie, and the one that inspired my travel bug in part, is "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." I also have a soft spot for cheesy rom coms, movie musicals, travel documentaries, and true crime shows.
To ask me to choose just one favorite book is unfair, but some titles that make the list are "Fahrenheit 451," anything by Stephen King, "Fight Club," and (of course) the Harry Potter series.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Was the singer/"frontwoman" for a blues/soul/jazz/American roots band in New Orleans, and got to perform at the House of Blues!
