Hello everyone and welcome to my profile :)!

I am from the U.S. and currently studying history and German at the University of Heidelberg, in Baden- Württemberg Germany. I have completely fallen in love with travelling and meeting new people! I would spend my entire life doing so if I can manage it!

I'm pretty new to Couchsurfing and used it to travel through France and Switzerland over the last couple months. In light of my great experiences, I decided to start hosting people as well! I love meeting the new people, trading stories and experiences, and of course helping people out on their trips :)

Although I love where I am from, I definitely have a large dose of wanderlust and don't see myself returning to stay any time soon. I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new cultures as well as good music and good stories!

I think that the best things in life are free, and we should all be enjoying these hidden treasures! Oh! And one more thing, I love to cook! And would love to make some delicious meals for you!

I have heard so many good experiences associated with this website that it was not possible to not join it! I love the hostel life, but I think there is definitely something to be said about getting to know a local in a city or area that you visit and I think that this website will be a good way to manage this. From the things that I have heard and experienced, it seems as though this website provides a invaluable service which would make travelling around the world all the easier!

I am very interested in all things outdoors! I used to rock climb every day, but sadly certain aspects of life have led to me falling out of practice, although it is something that I am working on recovering! I enjoy travel, to a point that I don't know if I will ever want to stop. I find language very interesting and love hearing new and interesting ones, as well as experiencing their unique culture. I speak conversational German (level B2, if you know the rating system) and I love to speak it. I also have a very basic understanding of Spanish, however I sadly cannot manage to speak it no matter how hard I try! I love walking around a new place and getting the feel for it and would take a day of wandering a city over a day of tourist attractions everyday!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

It is always hard for me to answer these questions because I like so many of all three! As far as music goes, I like essentially any genre (except for American Country music....) but typically listen to classic rock, hip hop, or electronic music depending on the mood. (Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, 2pac, Notorious BIG, Atmosphere, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Flume, Disclosure, Excision, Netsky etc.)

I like comedy and psychological thriller movies, but am currently going through a phase of watching any German movie I can get my hands on haha! (memento, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, American Psycho, American Beauty, Fight Club, Das Leben Der Anderen, Amélie, Waiting, Saving Private Ryan, Kebab connection)

My favorite leisure books are the "Song of Ice and Fire" series (game of thrones), but as a history major who plans on writing historical books in the future, I also find books on different aspects of history and philosophy interesting.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I am currently on a year long study abroad program in Germany, and I personally believe this to be the most amazing thing that I have ever done! I have had so many opportunities to meet new people and to have great experiences. I have learned so much about myself and the world despite the fact that I am only half way through my time here. I have also learned that I truly want to move to Europe and be even closer to all the amazing cultures all over the continent, as well as continue my travels around the world to see all that there is to offer!

I have a number of German language tandem partners back in my university city, so I am accustomed to helping people with their English. I also enjoy cooking and can help with anything in the kitchen, although I still have to work on my teaching skills for cooking haha! I love conversation and trading stories as well as trading cultural experiences!

I primarily offer what I have been told to be good company as well as some delicious cooking! I am a great travelling partner and like the spontaneous things in life, particularly impromptu adventures! I think that the opportunities possible by meeting people from around the world are priceless, and I would love to enjoy this with more people!
