Do you know what four Russians packed in an autorickshaw in India with four backpacks and two sleeping bags look like? We do. They stayed with us!

We're Deepa and Praveen. We're a low-stress, laid back duo and like to take it easy. We're very outdoorsy and like adventure sports and music festivals. We like meeting people and making new friends - specially people who travel. We'd like to help backpackers traveling on low budgets. Feel free to drop us a line or call us. We can accommodate 2 or may be 3 travellers for about a week. We have a guest room where you can camp.

We've hosted all kinds of interesting people - a Belgian Hitchhiker & Yogi, a Polish Biker, a Swedish Viking (no kidding), a French Accordion Player, an Iranian Photographer, a German Traveller-turned-Teacher, American Students. And remember the Russian Backpackers? We look forward to hosting many more interesting travelers.

We live in Fremont in the San Francisco bay area - about a 40 minute drive from SF (on thanksgiving when everyone else's munching turkey at home). We live right opposite the BART train station.

As guests, we're easy to host. We backpack and can crash just about anywhere: attic, under the stairs, beside the stove, bath tub - you name it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We love meeting travelers and hosting them.

We had a no-obligation relationship with everyone who's stayed with us or we stayed with. The house is pretty much open, so long as you keep it clean, don't damage anything and respect the fact that food in the fridge costs us money. Every one that's stayed with us respected that and we all had a ball of a time. Each and every one of them did something fun - cooked us a local dish, sang us a local song, celebrated birthdays with us. We think we hit it off quite well with everyone that's stayed with us.

Interests

Books, music, more books, more music, audio speakers, blues guitar, blues music, some more books, SCUBA diving, snow boarding, biking, Catan, comics, traveling, books, some (that's a BIG some) cooking, camping, hiking, driving, books.

We're serious about adventure sports and are certified SCUBA divers. Praveen likes to snowboard and Deepa's a voracious reader (of books, you guessed it). We really like our classic rock, blues and jazz music and have a modest collection to play from.

We're into 60s-70s classic rock, all kinds of blues and some jazz. We have a lot of music happening in our lives.

Books? Again? Comics, fiction, classics, romance, fantasy - Deepa reads everything. That's a serious everything.
