ABOUT ME

I am a freelance photographer and writer who lives on an island about a half hour north of Seattle. To some it is a vacation destination with a quite and relaxed feel. I currently live along a golf course with my daughter half of the time (and two dogs).

Working freelance, my days can be open to showing visitors around the island or helping you get into town. There is a direct bus from downtown Seattle to the ferry dock to get you to the island (and a direct train from the airport to downtown). There are some areas for hiking, but really, life on the island is more relaxing and community activities than parties and non-stop action. Unless, of course, that non-stop action is waves touching the shore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Of the couchsurfing experiences I've had, I've enjoyed most staying with families and hear about daily life in the areas I visit. I'm not a partying type of guy so I have seeked out older couchsurfers who fit my style of travel, which includes more culture, history and every day life.

Interests

I am obviously interested in photography and all that entails. Most of subjects in the past have been wide scenic shots and I am starting to shoot more and more daily life: people, places and patterns that are the same and different from place to place. How we relate to one another and aspects of our differences. I am naturally curious and love to learn.
