Overview
About Me
I am eternal self-critic and always searching to improve myself, with my own and idiosyncratic standards of goodness, of course. I also tend to be too optimistic about too many things, which probably comes from the fact that I am in love with life and the universe. In the same vein, I try to adhere as much as I can to the Buddhism principle stating that the only cause of your suffering is yourself.
Also, like most people with an oversized ego, I live to change the world for the better. Be it by writing, by spreading love, by political activism or scientific research, I want to help in creating a bright and happy future for all. In this regard, for those who know the term, I consider myself as a transhumanist, not the narcissistic type, but what is refereed as democratic transhumanism, where the goal is to improve mankind as a whole for the better.
Otherwise, I am currently a student in psychology, but moving into neuroscience for grad school in order to eventually become a full time neuroscientist (computational neuroscience for the geeks out there).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Isn't there a better way to travel and bite in the richness of a country than by meeting local people? It is also a good way to meet new and interesting people!

Music, Movies, and Books
I mainly read theoretical, scientific and non-fiction books, but I love a good science-fi from time to time. From the first category, my favorite most recent reads are:
Order out of chaos - Iliya Prigogine,
Godel, Bach & Escher - Douglas Hofstadter
Scientific Thought as a Planetary Phenomenon - Vladimir I. Vernadsky
My favorite novel would be Musashi, which inspired me greatly when I read it and still does.
As for music, I really enjoy a lot of different styles; classical, metal, rap, alternative rock, minimalism, dubstep, indie, etc.
My two favorite movies would be Watchmen and 2001 space odyssey.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Against all the odds, with a probability that tends infinitely to zero, I came into existence.
Isn't that amazing?
Teach, Learn, Share
I feel empty if I don't learn something new every day and I am interested in almost everything. It would be almost as exceptional as our existence if we didn't find something to share and to learn from each others!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can definitely share my bad sens of humor and my endless love for myself. If these aren't interesting enough, I would be more than happy to pay for a few beers or a meal!
