ABOUT ME
Hmmm. ALL about me? I don't know it all yet, but I'm learning. So far...I've raised an awesome daughter, and I'm viciously proud of her. I've traveled a bit in the third world and would like to see Europe. I'm planning on China at Christmas this year.
I am very interested in people and what makes them tick. I see each person as a gift, we each hold a different piece of the elephant and I enjoy learning about your part and telling you about mine.
I enjoy walking, hiking, camping, listening to any and all music well played. I like beer and good whiskey and local Oregon wine. I am a Christian by choice, not obligation, and I love hearing what you think about that choice and what yours is. I want to learn to speak Italian because it sounds so beautiful and improve my Spanish because it's so useful and maybe one day Chinese but that one feels beyond me. I love architecture and art and nature.
My favorite thing to do is sit down with friends after a day of play and talk deeply about life. I love to get really exhausted doing something that I love with people I care about. I like wandering, I love the feeling of not knowing what's around the next bend.
Life is beautiful.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is an adventure. Feel the fear and do it anyway. Do no harm. Respect everyone. Everyone needs lots of grace. Don't assume.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just one so far with Gordon Richman in Idaho, it was fine. His "couch" was an incredibly comfortable camping mattress on the floor by the wood stove in his "off the grid" house he built himself. We sat up after midnight talking about the world and I was on my way in the morning after strong coffee and home grown eggs. Very nice.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
Any music well played, but not fond of metal or rap. Afro-Celt Sound System is a current favorite.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Well, Yellowstone has been pretty cool. Traveling to Uganda was quite amazing, especially the phone booth in the jungle where you can buy minutes for your cell phone, that was something else. The devastation in Haiti defies description, and I love Maui - off the beaten tracks.
An amazing thing I've done in my lifetime, besides raising the best daughter ever :)is more than one thing - it's the volunteer relief work I've been part of the in the third world. I guess the most amazing thing that I'm proudest of is designing and implementing a child sponsorship program for girls who were living in a garbage dump in Nicaragua, and seeing that project go from bare ground to nearly 40 happy, healthy girls in just a few short years. It's great to be of service.
