About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to see everything I remember from my high school art history book and bake cookies for as many people as possible along the way!
ABOUT ME
I am an American student spending time in France for the first time!
I study comparative literature, specializing in French, Greek, and English, at UC Berkeley. Right now I am doing a semester abroad in Bordeaux.
My passions include music (guitar, singing, a little piano), cooking, reading books, writing books (well we'll see about that), taking pictures of beautiful and interesting things, learning languages, and of course travel!
PHILOSOPHY
The world would be better if people gave each other chocolate every day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
For the moment I can't host anyone since I am living in a French family's attic and I am not allowed to have overnight guests. But I love the concept of couchsurfing and meeting wonderful people as a part of visiting wonderful places. I may be able to host people once I get back to the US.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed for the first time recently in Paris. It was a wonderful experience with good food and nice people!

Music, Movies, and Books
I am currently most interested in Homer, Sophocles, Euripides, Racine, Voltaire, and many other important Greeks and French people who were influenced by them. I am also a big fan of Vonnegut, Faulkner, Steinbeck, William Saroyan, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Robert Hass, Billy Collins, Mary Oliver, and many many others.
Music: The Beatles, Sufjan Stevens, The Decemberists, Broken Bells, and I think I'll just stop there since those are the ones I've been listening to most lately.
Movies: Garden State. The Brave Little Toaster. Totoro. I can't remember.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was twelve I played the largest outdoor organ in the world (Spreckel's organ pavilion in San Diego). Why not.
Teach, Learn, Share
Knitting, sewing, cooking, a lot of random facts about Greek language and mythology...
