About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Simplify Life!

ABOUT ME

People call me Tony. I like to cook vegan food so everyone could eat together. I like good books, vintage bicycles, sign language, psychology, philosophy, history, arts, architectures, cultural cityscapes/landscapes, camping and fun adventures.

PHILOSOPHY

I adhere to the philosophy shared in the book "Down to Earth: Towards a Philosophy of Nonviolent Living," written by John Nolt. His writing moved me to hang my clothes to dry instead of using the dryer machine and ride my bike instead of driving the car. I believe if we take care and respect Earth, we are taking care of everyone's home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to help out travelers. I enjoy meeting new people and learning about their cultures.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I couchsurfed for the first time after my housemate Mike Harter sent out requests just before we hit the road for the Green Festival in 2008. The plan was absolutely spontaneous and hectic. A nice person called us and offered the couch. Another person called and gave us phone numbers to local hostels. We stayed at a hostel on the first night then stayed at someone's apartment in the next night. Couchsurfing made our adventure smooth and swift that I decided put up my profile and join the couchsurfing posse.

Music, Movies, and Books

I always have a book going. I enjoy drum circle and live tribal music. I don't watch television, but I like watching good movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Surfed in a tepee with Rosebud Lakota-Sioux tribe in South Daktoa, biked around in Amsterdam, backpacked in Colorado, met Ralph Nader @ Green Festival, attended Woodstock '99, volunteered in Haiti, went on many spontaneous road trips, etc. Let's share interesting traveling and adventure tales over coffee and good food.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am up to share do-it-yourself skills and vegan recipes!
