Overview
About Me
Update! I haven’t been active on CS for a bit - becoming a librarian, remodeling a house and adopting our foster son has kept us pretty swamped. But now we’re back out and exploring the world. We are currently traveling through Mexico, Belize, Honduras and Guatamala for the summer with our son Isiah.
David - after living abroad for 5 years which included a stint in the Peace Corps in Namibia and teaching Kindergarten in Nagoya, Japan, I have returned to Cincinnati. My partner Justin and I both teach at a local Montessori school, raise chickens, and take care of our foster son, Isaiah.
I've been working towards creating a life that allows me summers off to continue traveling abroad and this year, it's finally coming to fruition.
Justin - a country boy who moved to Cincinnati from North Carolina. I now teach math at a local Montessori School. I am a CS-virgin per-se and can't wait to explore this opportunity this summer in Asia.

Music, Movies, and Books
Any and ALL movies, but some of my favs are Powder, Playing by Heart, The Breakfast Club (don't hate me, I'm a child of the 80s'), Clueless, Albert Nobbs - a recent favorite. I really enjoy horror! I like to be scared but I can certainly do without most of the gore that flicks today seems to contain.
My musical tastes run from Enya to Marilyn Manson. I tend to find a mood for just about anything. Currently very into Washed Out and Small Black.
I've read everything the master, Stephen King has written and feel The Dark Tower series are the best seven books you'll ever feast your eyes on.
I truly believe that Six Feet Under was the greatest television show in history and Alan Ball is a god!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have sat on the edge of the Grand Canyon, met my birthmother, swam in the waters above Victoria Falls, swam with sharks in Hermanus, abseiled in Wildernis, went on a mokoro trip into the Okavango Delta, hiked down Sani Pass in Lesotho, sat on a camel at the pyramids of Giza, been inside the Vatican, walked beneath the Eiffel Tower, heard the clang of Big Ben and have eaten REALLY, REALLY good sushi in Japan!
Teach, Learn, Share
I guess the most important thing I've learned - and this has become fine-tuned during all my quiet time in the village - is that unless we accept every aspect of who we are - that includes the good and the bad, the wrinkles, the farts, the insecurities, the goofiness and mistakes - then we will never be whole. And frankly, if we don't accept ourselves completely, how do we ever expect anyone else to?
