My mission is use my privileges in the most generous way and have fun doing it!

ABOUT ME

I am an Angelina by both birth and choice. I love where I am from and my multiethnic background and unique melting pot experience in LA that has made me an adventurous, curious and conscious thinker and explorer. I love to learn and study about history, international development, music, performing arts, social justice issues and so much more. I love hearing people's stories and journeys about their lives and families and paths.
I love sports and I cherish time in nature.
I have spent my time at the university and since then working in my community and specifically working with young people. I try to evolve each day and make a point to listen and observe the world around me.
I have had the pleasure to live in Mexico, Chile and visit Argentina, Italy and many parts of the United States.

I am moving to Vibo Valentia, Calabria for the English Teaching Grant that I received from the Fulbright Commission. I will be teaching at two local high schools and hope to find community and family in Calabria.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I plan to participate in the CS project by building my global and local networks with travelers everywhere and expand my horizons in a cost effective, people and student friendly way. This community to me, is a real community of open people that are willing to share pieces of their lives, whether their coach or their life story in order to learn and grow with others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My coach surfing experience has been mostly throughout the state of California and almost entirely with members of my extended family.
I am excited to have my first CouchSurfing experience within this community!

EVERYTHING!
Anything Motown will get me out of my seat and either to the microphone or the dance floor. My favorite artists are: Otis Redding, Alicia Keys, John Legend,Lauryn Hill, Talib,Ray Charles, Citizen Cope, Al Green, Tinawiren, The Beatles, Nora Jones but the list could literally go on forever.
My favorite movie is Love and Basketball because they just go so well together.
BOOKS: "To Kill a Mockingbird," "A People's History of the United States," "The Fire Next Time" "The Alchemist" "Borderlands" and anything Elena Ferrante

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I sat second row at Tinawiren concert that had every audience member rushing the stage. Everyone including elderly people and children. The amazing thing was that no one spoke the language of the band, but everyone felt their emotion and excitement and it was the beautiful thing I have ever felt.

I was in a circus once...
I have made speeches in front of thousands of people...
Climbed to the top of the Torres del Paine in Chile.

I am not sure yet what else I can teach people other than be accepting of others and to always be yourself.
I want to learn how to speak Italian fluently with no problems,sing in tune, and learn a formal martial art.
