About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Have always wanted to travel, but now more than ever, as many cultures seem to be disappearing or changing irrevocably. I want to raise my global awareness. Gandhi tells us "You must be the change you wish to see in the world."

ABOUT ME

I am 47, married to a wonderful man, who has a beautiful stepdaughter married to another wonderful man. We all enjoy travelling together because we prefer to NOT have a schedule and just see where our noses lead us. We are all very good at making friends wherever we go because we are polite and honorable and show respect for other people's cultures. Our curiosity and thirst for knowledge and new experiences are our guides.

My grandfather had a wanderlust that found him stowing away on ships in his teens. I inherited those genes, but the urges were successfully squashed for most of my life. At 47, I'm rebelling, dammit. I'm going to finally get off this continent!

PHILOSOPHY

I am VERY concerned about Climate Change and/or Global Warming and have altered my lifestyle to include as many "green practices" as possible. Now that I've decided to start travelling, this means more taking public transit or biking/walking. When I am staying anywhere other than a hotel, I believe I should leave a place cleaner than it was when I arrived.

Interests

Although I am now working in computers, the education as a botanist still remains, so I am very interested in flora from around the world. I've always been interested in archeaology & swore my first overseas trip would be to Egypt, but as it happens, it will be to England. That's OK, too, because I am the keeper of the family genealogy, and we have many roots there. Photography and videography are how I express my artistic side. Castles, ancient architecture, boats, trains, planes. Aw, heck, I'm interested in too much stuff, which is why I never have time to get anything done!
