About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Living day to day :) Progress, Not Perfection!

ABOUT ME

I’ve been in Portland for five years now, and I love the Pacific Northwest ❤️ When I'm not working or doing homework I love balancing my love for daytrips and adventures in nature with my love for Netflix marathons. I love learning about astrology, tarot, crystals, magic, etc.

As far as my personality goes: I've been told I'm warm, caring, funny, passionate, loyal, affectionate, witty

I really enjoy the company of people who really and truly believe they can take something from interaction with anybody. Fuck pretentiousness.

I'm vegan! And I love trying out new recipes. Let me cook for you!

I'm queer and I am very interested in exploring queer cultures around the world. If you want to point me in the direction of the local gay bars or hangout spots that would be much appreciated. :)

PHILOSOPHY

I have been rebuilding my life over the past couple of years or so. I have been trying to take my life one day at a time to help me cope with recent changes. I want to learn to thrive with the chaos instead of crumble underneath it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been a part of the CS community for practically a decade. I have hosted a few times and surfed. All experiences were awesome and I have connections still with people I met while surfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 2011 I surfed for the first time in Ireland. It was rewarding, crazy fun, and better than I could have ever imagined it would be. I really believe in the CouchSurfing project, and I want to do anything I possibly can to support it. We're moving into such a global age, and couchsurfing is definitely a part of that. There's nothing better than building connections around the world and coming into contact with people who share such a love of travel and learning about other cultures.

Interests

Music: I love alternative/indie music quite a bit. My music tastes are very broad ranging though.

Films: I am big on movies, and I watch quite a few. Not into westerns or most action movies. Other than that, I'm probably down. Especially if there is good representation of women, LGTBQIA people, people of color, etc.

Books: Books: I really enjoyed reading feminist literature and Women and Gender Studies academic articles. Anything by Kate Bornstein, bell hooks, Jamison Green, etc. Also, I love autobiographies and anything that will make me laugh. I'm less into fiction, so it's gotta be pretty compelling for me to get into it. Some of my favorites include:
To Kill a Mockingbird, Keeping You a Secret, The Glass Menagerie, The Bell Jar, Girl, Interrupted, Go Ask Alice, Harry Potter, My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands, The War on Choice, The Pearl

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmmmm.....I would have to say meeting somebody from the internet who I had been talking with for several years. That was a very fun experience. That was also my first time out of the U.S. other than going to Mexico.

Teach, Learn, Share

As far as teaching goes, hmmmm.....I would love to show you around Portland. There are some cool sites to see and places to go. Especially day trips all over the state of Oregon or across state lines

I hope to learn about somebody else's culture. I want the opportunity to view the world through their eyes and see them experience something new. I find it fascinating.

I want to share great times that will result in lasting memories. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’ll cook some yummy vegan food for you! Also, I’ll try to make you laugh ;)

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, Ireland, Mexico, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
