About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be the change I wish to see in the world.

ABOUT ME

I'm super outgoing and a pretty happy person who likes to make the most of life. I love talking to new people and getting to know new cultures. I like to see the good in everyone. I am a student on my way to an Environmental Studies degree to help me be the change I wish to see. I make money to travel by being self-employed by working with children doing art, music, and childcare. I love my life and I'm eternally excited for the future!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that we need to appreciate the life that we hold and constantly show gratitude for what we have and who we are... No matter how crappy our own life might seem, there is always somewhere out there worse off... I've got quite a few theories on life but I'll save that for conversations in real life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I work all the popular event hours (nights/weekends) so it's hard for me to meet up with the local couch surfers but I lightly participate in a county group and have had a great time getting to know a few people so far!

I also got to meet a few couch surfers on my European Adventure (April 2012) and gained an insane amount of appreciation for couch surfing and the people I met.

I love the chance to show off my homeland. I have given a few tours around San Francisco and Santa Cruz and had so much fun since it's hard not to enjoy California and I just love meeting new people from far off places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My couch surfing experiences while traveling have been AMAZING. Both my hosts in Zurich and Berlin have been wonderful people who are so excited to show us their cities and spoil us with awesome treats while staying with them. It has been SO incredible to have an inside view from actual citizens of the countries... I am SO appreciative of everything they have done for us and so excited to have the chance to spoil them when they come out to California.

I'm hoping I can make a lot of red on these maps in my lifetime!

Teach, Learn, Share

In planning my trip with Europe I discovered that trains and planes are not the only way to get around - if there is an ocean or body of water between countries - CHECK OUT THE FERRIES! www.seat61.com made planning my transportation around countries much easier!

I also LOVE www.travelmath.com for figuring out all sorts of numbers! It's the perfect website for a number obsessive person like me!

I am trying to ponder a way to do some "art in the park" in all the countries I visit. I would bring with a bunch of art supplies and set up a table for people to come and create as they wish. I'm very interested in seeing how children create art all around the world and would like to make a book about it. I just need to figure out how to do it! Meeting couch surfers who can help me with language barriers would definitely be super helpful so that's where I should start. :)
